He later collaborated with the University of Gothenburg on the study of the phenotypic landscape of yeasts, playing a key role in the identification and validation of genes. He conducted postdoctoral research at INRA-Versailles (France) with *Arabidopsis thaliana*, exploring natural variation in expression traits and the role of non-coding regions in drought stress adaptation, using various omics approaches. With the support of a CONICYT return grant, he established his own research group in Chile.
